Ggombolola Cup Week 6 in Summary 26-Feb to 03-Mar
The Ggombolola Cup entered week six of competitions with two new Masaza of Kabula and Buwekula joining it to bring the tally to 12 counties.
Ggombolola Cup / Omupiira gw’Eggombolola mu Buganda is a sports competition by the Buganda Kingdom played amongst the 175 sub-counties under their respective 18 counties and named after the official title of the Ssaza/County chief.
After a successful launch on Thursday 29th, Kabula witnessed 8 goals on match day one in a gala thriller at Kaliiro Play Ground in Ssabawali on Saturday 2nd March officiated by the Saza Chief (Lumaama) Oweek. David Luyimbaazi Kiyingi. Fellow new comers Buwekula organized one game on their opener where hosts Ssaabagabo Kasambya lost 00 : 01 to Mumyuka Bagezza, with a lone goal from Ochan Brian who also took the Man of the match accolade. A total of 38 goals were scored in 17 games played.
Action in week 7 shall witness two new comers of Busujju and Gomba, but will be highlighted by the minister’s visit to Gomba on Sunday 10th March 2024 where he will visit youth undertakings, officiate at the swearing in of the county youth leadership on top of watching the opener of the Kitunzi Cup.
Other Ssazas with fixtures this week include Busiro, Buvuma, Buddu, Kyaggwe, Bulemeezi, Kyaddondo, Ssingo, Butambala, Mawokota, Mawogola, Kabula, and Buweekula.
