Butambala finalizes plans for Ggombola Cup
The Ssaza headquarters played host to a meeting of all Ggombololas that make up Butambala to plan for the Katambala Cup schedule.
Under the leadership of Sheik Ahmed Muusa Lubega the Youth Chairman, leaders were elated with the preparations and agreed to play on a round robin system where each of the 5 Ggombololas shall get a chance to host games/events.
Ssaabaddu Ngando shall host the opener on 24th February 2024 and also play against Ssaabawaali Bulo on a day the minister of Youth, Sports and Arts is expected to visit Butambala and also see developmental activities of the youths plus officiating at the swearing in of the youth leadership.
Mumyuka Kalamba. Musaale Budde and Ssaabagabo Kibibi will host the next match days on 2nd 9th and 16th March in the consecutive order as listed, with each hosting 3 games a day, before the teams all converge in Ssaabawaali Bulo on 23rd March for the Finals and classification games.
The Mr. Derrick Kavuma, Vice Chairperson of the Buganda Youth Council in charge of sports expressed his gratitude to the Kingdom administration for empowering the youths through sports and encouraged the people of Butambala to take the games as an opportunity to strengthen their structures.
