Mumyuka Bugaya win 1st game as Buvuma’s Mbuubi Cup kicks off.
Saturday has definitely been a good day for the Islanders of Buvuma as they converged at the Saza Grounds in Majjo for the opener of the Ggombolola Cup 2024.
The opening game in the event, christened “Mbuubi Cup” in honor of the County Chief, saw Mumyuka Bugaya register the 1st win against Ssabawaali Bweema in a match that ended 1:2. Ssegirinya Derrick and Senvuma Patrick scored for Mumyuka Bugaya while Kyakoonye Brian scored Ssabawaali Bweema lone goal. It was no surprise when Mumyuka Bugaya’s Captain, Ssemudu William was pronounced player of the match due to his display in the game.
Ssemanda Mathius, the Youth Chairperson thanked the coordinators of the Ggombololas for supporting the process and was greatful to the kingdom for such an arrangement that is giving the youth an opportunity to compete and get selected for other events, including Masaza and Bika competitons.
Buvuma has 5 counties including Mumyuka Bugaya, Ssabagabo Nairambi , Ssabawaali Bweema, Musale Sejja and Ssabaddu Busamuzi who will all play a round robin, with the top four teams proceeding to the semi finals with finals slated for 6th April 2024 at the same venue.
