Six games highlight the opening of Buddu’s Pookino Cup
It’s been a beehive of activities at the Bulakitti pitch of Lukaya in Bukulula Sub County as all the four teams in group A - Muteesa (Kalungu), in the Pookino Cup, vied for the two clear qualification slots to the round of 16 on day one of Pokino Cup.
Mutuba II Kasumba Bukulula topped the group of four being ahead of Mutuba X Kyamulibwa on basis of Goals since both had 5 points and a similar goal difference, making them both qualify directly. Mumyuka Katabalwa Kalungu however also stands a chance to qualify as 3rd best looser but has to wait for results from B - Daudi Ccwa (Bukomansimbi).
While declaring results of the day, Mr. Kalibala Ambrose the Chairman of Buddu Ssaza Team noted that 8 goals were scored by 6 players. Mayanja Thomas (Kalungu) and Mayanja Abdu (Kyamulibwa) topped the scoring with 2 goals each, while Kiyemba Mahaz, Wadda Emannuel, Mbidde Shafiq (Lwabenge) and Benjamin Kimbowa (Bukulula) each scored a single goal.
Pookino Cup resumes next Sunday 11/02/2024 with games for Group B - Daudi Ccwa featuring Mutuba XI Bigasa, Musaale Butenga, Mutuba XXII Kitanda, and Mutuba XVIII Kibinge at Kitaasa Field in Bukomansimbi.
